Retrospect through our history with stories and (sometimes) interactive artifacts. This section is the centrepiece of the VMK’s offerings. Its initial theme, the Kootenays before Cities, will see extensive development under the collaborative guidance of many local museums and historians.

The VMK uses advanced techniques to enhance communication. Alas, neither printers nor older computers can reproduce these features.
JavaScript is used in the menu and elsewhere so should be enabled. Many resources require QuickTime ; install the latest version. Other resources require Java (not the same as JavaScript), so it should be enabled in your browser also. For best viewing: set screen resolution to at least 800 x 600; maximize the browser’s window; even hide the browser’s toolbars.
